Today is 1st January 2025 according to the Vietnamese traditional calendar therefore everywhere in Vietnam is red. They are celebrating their Tết Nguyên Đan festival (Vietnamese New Year).

Traditionally, the Vietnamese use animals to represent the years. Each animal in the Vietnamese zodiac system is given a distinct name. There are 12 animals that represent the years in the Vietnamese zodiac calendar.

The following are the animals:
 1.⁠ ⁠Tý (Mouse): Quick-witted, resourceful, and versatile
 2.⁠ ⁠Sửu (Ox): Strong and dependable
 3.⁠ ⁠Dần (Tiger): Courageous and fearless
 4.⁠ ⁠Mão (Cat): Mysterious and independent
 5.⁠ ⁠Thìn (Dragon): Powerful and charismatic
 6.⁠ ⁠Tỵ (Snake): Wise and intuitive
 7.⁠ ⁠Ngọ (Horse): Adventurous and free-spirited
 8.⁠ ⁠Mùi (Goat): Gentle and compassionate
 9.⁠ ⁠Thân (Monkey): Intelligent and energetic
10.⁠ ⁠Dậu (Rooster): Confident and diligent
11.⁠ ⁠Tuất (Dog): Loyal and protective
12.⁠ ⁠Hợi (Pig): Kind and generous
