Ghlobal Diaspora Council (GHLOBAL), in collaboration with the Ghanaian Community in France (GHACIF), will host the Ghana’s 17th Region Summit in Paris, France, on Saturday, 14 March 2026.
The summit forms part of ongoing Diaspora engagement efforts following the designation of the Ghanaian Diaspora as the country’s 17th Region. The gathering will bring together Ghanaian community leaders, professionals, and stakeholders from across the globe to deliberate on the statutory formalization and practical framework of this designation.
The event is expected to serve as a platform for structured dialogue, policy proposals, and collaborative input from diaspora communities. GHLOBAL’s Committee will present a draft formalization proposal for discussion, with feedback from participants incorporated into a final submission for stakeholder engagement.
Participants are encouraged to arrive in Paris on Friday, 13 March 2026, ahead of the full summit session on Saturday. An optional church service will be held on Sunday, with departures scheduled for Monday, 16 March 2026.
According to GHLOBAL leadership, the summit represents more than a meeting – it is a coordinated step toward strengthening the relationship between Ghana and its Global Diaspora.
By providing a formal space for dialogue, the council aims to ensure that Diaspora voices are organized, documented, and strategically positioned within national development conversations.
