Jermaine Nkrumah, Chairman of the Ghlobal Diaspora Council, has expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Ghana Physicians and Surgeons Foundation of North America (GPSF) for the opportunity to present the Council’s vision during its annual conference held on Saturday, May 17th, in Atlanta, Georgia.
In his remarks, Chairman Nkrumah acknowledged the contributions of both the outgoing president, Dr. Fran Abayie, and the incoming president, Dr. Akwasi Amponsah, praising their dedication to uniting and empowering Ghanaian healthcare professionals in the diaspora.
“We are deeply grateful to Dr. Fran Abayie and Dr. Akwasi Amponsah for the invitation to be part of such a well-organized and insightful gathering,” Nkrumah said. “It was a privilege to share Ghlobal’s vision and engage with a community committed to the advancement of our homeland.”
The GPSF conference brought together healthcare experts, policymakers, and diaspora leaders from across North America, all focused on strengthening Ghana’s health systems and expanding development efforts through professional collaboration.
The Ghlobal Diaspora Council, a non-partisan organization dedicated to mobilizing Ghanaians abroad for national development, reaffirmed its commitment to deepening partnerships with institutions such as the GPSF. According to Chairman Nkrumah, the Council is focused on fostering sustainable and impactful engagement between the diaspora and stakeholders back home.
“We look forward to working collaboratively to strengthen our collective impact and contribute constructively to Ghana’s development,” he added.
The conference highlighted the growing momentum for diaspora-led contributions to national progress, reinforcing the importance of unity and strategic collaboration in building a brighter future for Ghana.
