The Youth Wing leadership model ensures effective representation and coordination across countries and regions while creating a pathway for leadership development.

Leadership Tenure & Capacity Building

  • Leadership tenure: 2 years (renewable once)

  • Leaders may be elected or appointed

  • Mandatory induction and training in leadership, governance, reporting, and advocacy

  • Mentorship from senior Association members

National Youth Wing Roles

Chairperson

  • Provides strategic leadership

  • Represents the Youth Wing in Council engagements

  • Submits quarterly and annual reports

Vice Chairperson

  • Supports and deputizes the Chairperson

  • Oversees regional and country coordination

General Secretary

  • Manages documentation and correspondence

  • Prepares activity and governance reports

Organizing Secretary

  • Coordinates meetings, events, and mobilization

Treasurer

  • Manages finances and prepares budgets

Communications Officer

  • Oversees publicity, digital platforms, and communications

Country Youth Ambassador

The Country Youth Ambassador serves as the official representative of the Youth Wing at the country level.

Core Responsibilities

Coordination & Representation

  • Liaises with Ghanaian associations and community groups

  • Represents the Youth Wing at embassy and community engagements

Membership Development

  • Recruits and registers youth

  • Maintains membership database

  • Identifies student, professional, and faith-based networks

Programs & Engagement

  • Organizes at least one youth activity per quarter

Communication

  • Disseminates official information

  • Collects feedback and monitors diaspora youth issues

Advocacy

  • Documents youth challenges (employment, integration, immigration)

  • Supports diaspora engagement aligned with Ghana’s 17th Region agenda

Resource Mobilization

  • Builds partnerships and identifies sponsors

  • Supports fundraising initiatives

Talent Mapping

  • Identifies skilled youth across sectors

Welfare & Crisis Coordination

  • Provides first-line support during emergencies

  • Escalates serious cases to leadership

Ambassadors serve as coordinators, not legal advisors.
