Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Ghlobal Organization?

Ghlobal is a bold initiative to harness the collective strength of the Ghanaian diaspora in collaboration with the resident population to shape our country into the Ghana we all want and deserve. Learn more about us.

Why do I have to sign up as a member of Ghlobal?

Creating a directory of the Ghanaian diaspora and its organizations unifies Ghanaians worldwide – by blood, heritage, or affinity – while fostering cultural preservation, economic collaboration, and coordinated development efforts. It empowers youth, strengthens diplomatic engagement, and supports Ghana’s “Beyond the Return” agenda by connecting returnees and allies. Such a directory is not just a registry but a vital platform for global coordination, cultural resilience, and national progress.

What benefits do I get for a $12/yr ‘gold’ membership?

As a non-profit, this small contribution helps grow the Organisation. However, we are constantly seeking perks to thank those who help keep the lights on. We will offer group discounts and other perks when available – Please stay tuned.

The $10 lifetime payment to list a business is intentional. This small contribution limits spam and robotic listings. Less clutter allows legitimate Ghanaian-affiliated entities to be featured, seen, and patronized by the vast diaspora community.

Who is considered a member of the Ghanaian diaspora?

The extended Ghanaian Diaspora refers to all individuals of Ghanaian descent living outside the borders of Ghana, including both recent emigrants and their descendants across generations. This encompasses not only those who maintain direct familial or national ties to Ghana, but also:

  • Persons of African descent from the transatlantic slave trade who, though historically displaced, share ancestral roots in the region that is now Ghana. This includes African Americans, Afro-Caribbeans, and others who identify with Ghana as a symbolic or spiritual homeland under the country’s Right of Return policy.

  • Naturalized Ghanaians and dual citizens who have integrated into other nations but maintain strong cultural, familial, and or economic links to Ghana.

  • Friends of Ghana, which includes individuals from all backgrounds who, though not Ghanaian by origin, share in the nation’s development, culture, advocacy, or solidarity-often through marriage, long-term residence, investment, or alliance with Ghanaian institutions and causes.

Together, these groups form a global community of advocates, investors, and cultural ambassadors who contribute to Ghana’s growth and international presence while embodying the values and heritage of the Ghanaian identity.
